Improve your snatch or clean and jerk or both. I also coach lifters who are interested in general strength or general physical preparedness. We can discuss exactly what you want to focus on and why. I offer ongoing coaching on a regular monthly basis or single sessions with specific focus.
I love to see the progress athletes make over time, so if you are interested in ongoing coaching, this would be for you. I will have general programming for athletes with certain tweaks to the programming to personalize it. I work with all levels of lifters, so never you mind if you haven't snatched before or if you feel like your mobility isn't quite there yet. The group atmosphere during training is really fun and encouraging.
The in person location is in Mt. Juliet, TN at The Ogre Compound.
I also coach athletes either online via Zoom or via videos sent to me, and can work with you to see what fits best. Some athletes usually send videos but pop into the gym periodically so I can see them in real life. Some athletes do one Zoom session a week and the rest of the training on their own according to the program I've set up for them. So it's really about what works for your schedule to keep you accountable and progressing toward your goals.
My usual price for ongoing coaching is $125/month.
I love working with personal training clients on an "a la carte" basis whether it's weekly or monthly or as needed. Or whether it's leading up to a weightlifting competition, a CrossFit competition, or you just want to get better at lifting. We can work on snatches, cleans, clean and jerk, just jerks, even squats and deadlifts, whatever you need improvement on. We'll use whatever technique or lift variation that it will take to help you improve. I have access to blocks to pull from at a bunch of different heights, jerk boxes to work from for jerks and also snatch drops and snatch balance, and also rigs to use for jerk recoveries.
IN REAL LIFE: Location: The Ogre Compound in Mt. Juliet, TN. I also do outcalls to your location within a reasonable driving distance of Nashville/Mt. Juliet.
After a recent session, AJ said: "That was awesome! Thank you so much, Jennifer! I had a blast talking with you. And I did a few more singles after we spoke and I think that once I get used to that new starting position it's going to be a game changer. I most definitely want to do another session again. I'm going to work some things out with my programming and maybe we can work something out with doing a video session on a more regular basis. I really got a lot out of talking with you today."
I had the opportunity to be coached by Jennifer at the world championships in 2019. She expertly handled my warmup and competition attempts and I had an incredible meet! I’ve competed for many years nationally and internationally and been handled by many different coaches. Jennifer is definitely my go-to next time I need a meet coach.
As a busy homeschooling mama of 3, I needed Jennifer to customize workout plans for me to complete in tiny pockets of time at the gym. She provided nutritional support as well. I have never felt stronger than when I used her plans. But the best thing about her is that she really cares about your success.
George Halas was asked, “What makes a good coach?” – His answer- “complete dedication.” There is a reason I drive an hour to meet with Jennifer Perrier for coaching. She gives me complete dedication. I always come out of our sessions together, exhausted, inspired and a better athlete. She gives 100% of herself to her lifting and to her coaching. She is a champion lifter, with twelve years of competitive experience under her belt. Time with Jennifer is a crucial part of my training.
As a new CrossFitter I wanted to find someone with the expertise to teach me the fundamentals so that I could start with a solid base before ingraining potentially bad habits. In searching for such a class I found a short seminar being offered at Nashville Weightlifting Club on one piece of the snatch (getting under the bar). Admittedly, I wasn’t familiar with the club or, embarrassingly enough, the coach but the small (capped) class size sold me on making the 3 hour drive. Once I signed up and found out that the instructor would be a 4x Gold medalist (Jennifer Perrier) I was afraid that I would be too new to benefit from such a world class athlete. Jennifer immediately put my (and everyone else’s) mind at ease with her calm confidence and humble expertise. Jennifer had everyone warm up on their own as she surveyed each person’s abilities. After a few minutes she had cues for everyone (all different skill levels were represented) and moved us into 90 minutes of snatch drops and snatch balance work. The level of instruction was simply phenomenal! Jennifer watched each athlete, one at a time, on every lift so if an elbow was flared even a few degrees, she was on it! In 90 short minutes I received what would have been a year’s worth of group class instruction and progressed leaps and bounds from simple, understandable, practical, and direct cues. I would highly recommend Jennifer’s classes for any athlete wanting to progress in weightlifting, regardless of current level of skill.
